PURA-OLA Project update July 2025

In End December 2024 i came back to pavones to continue another part of the project.

Last year the roof wasn't finished so i used this year to repair and enforce the big second floor platform, that was build last year as i found out theres errors in the building by the team who build it , as a solution i invited a high level engineer who is incharge of 50 other engineers in the big marina project that is now built in Quepos . He took measurments (Spend 5 h at the project to review it all)and asses the errors and came with solutions through supporting the Americana support for the platform that was already made and the futue stairs that were meant to be open concept .we used big metal tubes from black thick metal of 4 by 6 inches with 3,5 mm thickness to create a frame supported by 4 by 4 inches columns. The roof to the house was made this year the rest will be continued next year .
we welcome to visit the site from time to time to see the progress and hopefully within 2027 we can start the project for visitors .

PURA OLA -PURE WAVE is a unique project for everybody who comes to Pavones, especially for Surfers .
We located 150 m from the beautiful beach where the last part of the pavones famous wave roll into the the peaceful bay where the fisherman boats lying on the beach. Coconut trees and wide sandy beach Sreached infront with the beautiful sight of the golfe dulce and matapalo .we are Only 100 m above the main entrance of pavones where Supermarkets and 2 mini markets are and some other shops like the souvenir and cloth shop .

Its a perfect location that enjoy the local Pastoralic Nature around the property ,horses running free cows in the farm attached to pura ola property .

Pura Ola was bought in 2014 by Eyal OPHIR a Long Time Surfer(started surfing in 1979) Israeli National team member who was ranked first for his age and up 20 yrs in 1984,1985 & 3 times Full Contact MMA National Champion in (mixed martial arts & national karate team Member holding the Guinness book of Record ¨the israeli man with most black belts¨ who dedicated all his life to these two disciplines .

In 2012 Eyal came to pavones for the First time to Surf the Famous perfect long wave of pavones after exploring the area to find the right land location for this project, he bought this land from one of the oldest pavones locals in pavones .

Eyal Knows the best spots in the area including some secrets spots and will advice you where and when is the best time to surf according to your level of surfing . Eyal holding surfing teachimg licences from the ISA-International Surfing Association Since 2023 that was the First instructor Course Held in pavones for the first time also holding from israel surfing association since 2014 and from hawaii since 1990. He surfed many other spots all over costa rica, panama Nicaragua and many famous spots around the world and big waves in hawaii (10 m at waimea bay)

Eyal speak fluent English,spanish, hebrew(mother language) basic Japanese and Chinese . As a resident of costa rica who knows the local customs the govermet system many surf spots through out the country will be happy to share assist and advice in anything you need from surfing, site seeing ,activities ,where to eat ,what to do ,and if you interested in buying/building your dream home in pavones or any other place in costa rica .Eyal can Assist you with that when you visit pavones or online when you are not here .

The land is flat And perfect for the poroject .The big trees in the creek bordering the land reaching now50- 70-100 m tall . bringing cool breeze and shade with many animal passing and residing on those trees.like White face &,mono kongo monkeys , Iguanas ,Toucans ,Parrots ,Slots... ).
The land is located 150 m from the famous wave ,where the last part of the wave finish in a calm bay with the fishermans boats , allowing Soft exit of a sand bottom both on low and high tide..most of the stretch where the wave break is full of river cobble stones that makes it harder to exit especially on low tide with ease and walk back to pura ola
within 3-5 min

passing the main entrance to pavones where there are the main 3 supermarkets some cloth and souveneir shopand another 100 m to reach a good cool shower comfortable peaceful cabinas and a safe place to rest after along surf sessions through out the day.
This land (lotte) was part of a big Finca that was belong to one of the most respected Families in pavones .
Through out the last 10 yrs since eyal bought it more forieners bought some land and altamira road becoming one of the tourist attraction and accomodation pavones which let the visitors enjoy the pastoralic view and tranquility of the local pura vida spirit and country life style of pavones costa rica .
